Should You Add Page Markers? Choosing Between On and Off
Key points
- "Add markers" for checking and citing
- "No markers" when using the text as continuous prose
- You can also delete them by hand later
"Add markers"
A marker such as "----- Page 2 -----" is inserted at the start of each page.
- When you want to check which page content came from
- When you want to cite page numbers
- When reading a long document page by page
"No markers"
There are no page breaks; the text just continues.
- When pasting the text as continuous prose
- When pasting into a translation or summary tool
If unsure
It's safest to extract with markers and delete the marker lines if you don't need them.
Extra note
A sentence spanning pages looks split by a marker. In that case try "No markers".
