How to Put a QR Code on a Flyer, Business Card or Poster
Key points
- Write a few words about what the code leads to
- Place it with enough size and margin
- Save as PNG or SVG and paste it into your document
A QR code goes unused unless viewers have a reason to scan it. Place it thoughtfully.
Add a few words nearby
Write what they will see near the code.
- "Visit our website"
- "Sign up here"
- "More details here"
With "Caption under the QR" in Create a QR Code, you can put text into the QR image.
On a business card
- A card is a good place for a portfolio or social URL.
- Space is small, so still keep at least 2 cm square.
- Cards can be made with Create Business Cards / Name Cards. Use the saved QR image by pasting it into another document.
On a flyer or poster
- For large prints, save as SVG so it does not blur.
- Place it where it catches the eye rather than in a corner.
- Keep the margin around it intact.
Pasting it into a document
- Paste it as an image into slides or documents.
- To bundle the finished material into a PDF, you can use Photos to PDF or Merge PDFs.
Shorter URLs scan better
A long URL makes the pattern dense. A short URL scans more easily.
