Key points
  • To control the page order, the tool on this site is the easiest way
  • The Files app and Notes scanner also work
  • After saving, always check the order and orientation

Here are three ways to turn photos or documents taken on your iPhone into a single PDF. Screens may look slightly different depending on your iOS version.

Method 1: Use the tool on this site (when you want to set the page order)

  1. Open the tool page and tap "Choose photos".
  2. Select the photos you want to combine.
  3. Use "Earlier" and "Later" to arrange the order. Remove any you don't need with "Delete".
  4. Pick the page size (such as A4) and the quality, then tap "Make PDF".
  5. Tap "Save PDF" to save the finished file.

Your photos are processed on your device and are never uploaded.

Method 2: Use the Files app

  1. Save your photos to a folder in the Files app.
  2. Open the folder and select several images.
  3. If "Create PDF" appears in the menu, choose it.

The menu differs between iOS versions. If you can't find "Create PDF", use Method 1 or Method 3.

Method 3: Scan with the Notes app

  1. Create a new note in Notes, tap the camera icon and choose "Scan Documents".
  2. Point the camera at the document and shoot. When you have enough pages, tap "Save".
  3. Tap the scan in the note and use the share button to save or send it as a PDF.

This suits paper documents you want to scan on the spot.

Which one should you choose?

What to check in the result

If you are submitting the file, first check the file format and size limit set by the recipient.
