PDFを結合したらファイルが大きくなるときの対処法

複数のPDFを結合すると、ファイルの大きさはだいたいその合計になります。3MBのPDFが3つなら、結合後は9MB前後です。

対処の順番

  1. 不要なページを外す：白紙ページや、重複しているページがないか確認し、「PDFのページを抜き出し・削除」で消します。
  2. 圧縮する：「PDFを圧縮」で、上限のサイズ（1MB・2MB・5MB・10MB）か画質を選びます。
  3. 結合前に、元のPDFを圧縮する：特に大きなPDFがある場合は、そのファイルだけを先に小さくします。

圧縮の注意

このサイトの圧縮は、各ページを画像にして作り直します。そのため、文字の選択・コピー・検索はできなくなります。提出先がそれを必要としないか、確認してください。

When you merge PDFs, the result is about the sum of their sizes. Three 3 MB PDFs make roughly 9 MB.

What to do, in order

  1. Remove unneeded pages: look for blank or duplicate pages and delete them with "Extract or Delete PDF Pages".
  2. Compress: in "Compress PDF", choose a size limit (1, 2, 5 or 10 MB) or a quality.
  3. Compress the originals before merging: if one file is especially large, shrink just that one first.

A note on compression

This site's compression rebuilds each page as an image. As a result, text can no longer be selected, copied or searched. Check that the recipient doesn't need that.

Leaving some margin rather than aiming for the exact limit reduces upload failures.
