How to Reduce Image File Size (Compress and Resize)
Key points
- Reduce with quality and image dimensions (long side)
- Process several images at once
- Check the result before using it
You may need to shrink images for upload limits or email size.
Steps
- Open "Compress & Resize Images" and choose images. You can select several.
- Choose "Quality": Small, Normal or High.
- Choose "Size (long side)": As is, 2000px, 1600px, 1200px or 800px.
- Choose the format (JPEG / WebP) and tap "Compress".
What helps most
- Lowering dimensions (px): the biggest effect. Phone photos are often 4000px or more; just going to 1600px can cut the file to a fraction.
- Lowering quality: shrinks further but adds roughness.
After saving
Before and after sizes are shown on screen. Check the look before using.
