How to Change the Starting Page Number
Key points
- Set the starting number with "Number of first page"
- Often used to skip the cover and count the body from 1
- Also handy for continuing numbers of combined material
How to set it
- Choose the PDF in "Add Page Numbers to PDF".
- Enter the number to start at in "Number of first page".
- Tap "Add numbers" and save.
When it's useful
- Skip the cover and make page two "1" (combine with setting "First page" to "Don't add")
- A previous document ran to page 10 and you want to continue from "11"
- Start an appendix at a different number
Checking
Look at the numbers on the first and last pages and confirm the range is what you intended.
Extra note
With the "1 / 10" style, the denominator is this PDF's total page count. Changing the starting number doesn't change it.
