Skipping the Cover and Starting at 1 on the Second Page
Key points
- Choose "Don't add" for the first page
- Set the starting number
- The body can start at 1 after the cover
In reports and papers, the cover is often left unnumbered and the body counted from 1.
Settings
- Choose the PDF in "Add Page Numbers to PDF".
- Set "First page" to "Don't add (cover and so on)".
- Adjust "Number of first page" so that page two becomes "1".
- Tap "Add numbers" and save.
Checking
- Is the cover free of numbers?
- Is page two numbered as intended?
- Is the last page's number right?
Extra tip
To start at 1 after a table of contents, keep the cover and contents in a separate PDF, number only the body, and then combine them with "Merge PDFs".
