How to Fix the Orientation of a PDF Made on iPhone
Key points
- The device's orientation when shooting can carry into page orientation
- Open it in the browser, rotate pages and save
- Use the saved PDF from Files or Share
Scans from the iPhone Notes app, or PDFs made from photos, can contain sideways pages.
Steps
- In Safari, open "Rotate & Reorder PDF Pages".
- Tap "Choose a PDF" and select the PDF from Files or Photos.
- Tap "Rotate" on wrongly oriented pages to fix them.
- Tap "Save" and choose "Save to Files" from the share sheet.
Where it goes
Choosing "Save to Files" in the share sheet keeps it in the Files app. You can also attach it directly to an email.
Keeping orientation clean
- Hold the phone upright and shoot from directly above
- For wide documents, turn the phone sideways
