How to Add a Watermark Like "For Submission" or "Copy" to a PDF
Key points
- Choose a PDF and enter the watermark text
- Choose placement, angle, color and opacity
- Check the preview and save the PDF
When you hand over a copy of a document or circulate a draft for checking, words such as "For submission" or "Copy" make the purpose clear. With Add a Text Watermark to PDF, you can add them from your phone with no sign-up.
Steps
- Tap "Choose a PDF" and select one PDF.
- Enter the watermark text. Buttons such as "FOR SUBMISSION", "COPY", "CONFIDENTIAL", "SAMPLE", "DO NOT REPRODUCE" and "DRAFT" are available.
- Choose the placement.
- One large, centered: the standard choice.
- Repeat across the page: better when you want it harder to copy.
- Small, bottom right: when you do not want to get in the way of the content.
- Choose angle (diagonal or horizontal), size, color and opacity.
- Tap "Add watermark". Check the preview and save the PDF.
Which pages
Choose "All pages" or "First page only".
The original is not changed
Your original PDF stays as it is. A watermarked PDF is saved separately. Keep the original file.
A watermark can be removed if someone tries. It is not a way to keep secrets.
