How to Print 2 or 4 PDF Pages per Sheet (Works on a Phone)
Key points
- Choose a PDF and the number of pages per sheet
- Choose order, margin and borders
- Print the new PDF on A4 at actual size
Printing class handouts or briefing slides one page at a time uses a lot of paper. With Combine PDF Pages onto One Sheet, you can print several pages on one A4 sheet.
Steps
- Tap "Choose a PDF" and select one PDF.
- Choose how many pages go on one sheet: 2, 4, 6, 8 or 9.
- Choose the order. Usually "Across, then down".
- Choose margin and borders. For slides, borders make the separation clearer.
- Tap "Combine onto sheets" and save the new PDF.
- Print it.
Print settings
- Set the paper to A4.
- Set the scale to "actual size (100%)". Turn off "fit to page".
- Since the pages are already arranged, do not use the printer's own "multiple pages per sheet" setting. It would shrink them twice.
Orientation of the result
2-, 6- and 8-up make a landscape A4. 4- and 9-up make a portrait A4.
Is the original PDF changed?
No. The original stays as it is. A new PDF is saved separately.
