Printing Lecture Slides 4-up or 6-up to Save Paper

Published: Oct 19, 2026 | Updated: Oct 19, 2026 | About (Japanese)

Key points
  • Slides stay readable at 4 to 6 per sheet
  • Use 2 to 4 per sheet if you want to write notes
  • Borders make the slides easy to tell apart

In university classes, slides are often handed out as PDFs. Printing every page individually adds up quickly.

Slides combine well

Slides have large text and little information per page, so 4 per sheet is perfectly readable.

Recommended settings

In Combine PDF Pages onto One Sheet:

Do a test print

First print just a few pages and check that the text is readable. If it is hard to read, use fewer pages per sheet.

For long documents

If a document runs to dozens of pages, keep only the pages you need before combining to save even more. You can use Extract or Delete PDF Pages.
