使い方

  1. 「ファイルを選ぶ」で、種類を調べたいファイルを選びます（複数OK）。
  2. ファイルの中身から判定した種類と、拡張子が合っているかが、表で表示されます。
  3. 必要なら、「結果をコピー」で、結果をコピーします。

仕組み

  • ファイルの先頭にある、種類を示す印（マジックナンバー）を読んで、判定します。
  • docx・xlsx・pptxは、ZIPの中身を見て見分けます。
  • テキストは、文字として読めるかで判定します。

注意

  • 拡張子を書き換えても、中身は変わりません。拡張子だけ変えたファイルは、開けないことがあります。
  • 判定できない形式は、「不明」と表示されます。
  • 危険なファイルかどうかは、判定できません。

よくある質問

ファイルは外部に送信されますか？

いいえ。処理はすべて、お使いの端末のブラウザの中で行われます。

拡張子が合っていないときは？

本来の種類の拡張子に直してから、開き直してください。名前の変更には、「ファイル名を一括で変更する」が使えます。

How to use

  1. Tap "Choose files" and select the files to check (several allowed).
  2. A table shows the type judged from the contents and whether the extension matches.
  3. Use "Copy the result" if you need the results.

How it works

  • It reads the identifying mark at the start of a file (the magic number).
  • docx, xlsx and pptx are told apart by looking inside the ZIP.
  • Text is judged by whether it reads as characters.
  • Unsupported formats are shown as "Unknown".

Notes

  • Changing an extension does not change the contents. A file with only its extension changed may not open.
  • Formats that cannot be judged are shown as "Unknown".
  • It cannot tell whether a file is dangerous.

FAQ

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything is processed inside the browser on your device.

What if the extension does not match?

Change it to the extension for the real type and reopen the file. Rename Many Files at Once can help.
