How to use
- Enter the range of data you want to return.
- Enter the column to check, the comparison and the value to compare.
- Copy the formula and paste it into a cell.
How it works
- A FILTER formula that returns only the rows that match is built.
- A formula with SORT, which sorts in ascending order, is built at the same time.
Notes
- If you empty the no-match result, that argument is left out.
- FILTER works in newer Excel and in Google Sheets.
