How to use

Enter the start date cell and the end date cell.
Choose the unit (Y, M, D and so on).
Copy the formula and paste it into a cell.

How it works

Y gives the difference in years, M in months and D in days.
A formula that shows years and months is built at the same time.

Notes

The start date must be earlier than the end date.
YM is the months excluding years, and MD is the days excluding months.
