How it works

SEQUENCE lays out a run of numbers in one go.
DATES is a run of dates, and REPEAT repeats a pattern like 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3.

Notes

ROWNUM numbers rows by subtracting the header row from the row number.
The second formula also works in older Excel that lacks SEQUENCE.
