How it works

  • ISBLANK checks whether the cell is empty. EMPTY also treats a cell with only spaces as empty.
  • ISNUMBER checks for a number and ISTEXT checks for text.

Notes

  • ISERROR checks for an error, ISNA for #N/A and ISFORMULA for a cell holding a formula.
  • Reversing the result makes the not-true case TRUE.
