How it works

  • SUBTOTAL totals only the visible rows, leaving out rows hidden by a filter.
  • FILTERED leaves out rows hidden by a filter. HIDDEN also leaves out rows you hid by hand.

Notes

  • The second AGGREGATE formula also skips cells with errors.
  • AGGREGATE is an Excel function. In Google Sheets, use SUBTOTAL.
